[About the Book]
This book is about a boy who lives in a household with all sorts of imaginative and unusual creatures that live throughout the house.  The name of each weird creature rhymes with the the name of common household items -- "the YEPS on the STEPS; that QUIMNEY up the CHIMNEY."  The illustrations and creatures are done in typical Seussian style.  The sentences are short, easy, and rhythmic which makes this book perfect for the youngest reader as well as the older child learning to read.

[Additional Notes]
This book is an excellent selection for children learning to read.  Dr. Seuss took common household words and rhymed them with made-up creatures giving beginning readers a fun way to practice sounding out words and learning through phonics.
